If you’ve ever heard of Pink Himalayan salt, you’ll know it’s an extraordinary mineral that’s not only good for your body but also adds a pop of color to anything you put it in/on.

Have you been curious about cooking with this wonderous salt? Here are some decadent desserts dressed up with Pink Himalayan salt that you can make at home.

Double Chocolate Cookies

These cookies are scrumptious and use healthy ingredients so you can curb your chocolate cravings without wreaking too much havoc on your body. They make a great dessert after you’ve had a pasta dish made with Pink Himalayan salt too.

You’ll need 6 ounces of semisweet chocolate, 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, 1 cup of whole-wheat pastry flour, 1/2 cup of pure cocoa powder, 2 teaspoons of instant espresso powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. You’ll also need 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 1/2 cup pure cane sugar, 2 large eggs, and Pink Himalayan sea salt.

Directions

First, preheat your oven to 325 degrees. Then, line your baking tray with parchment paper.

Melt the chocolate chips and butter together over medium-low heat, and stir until it gets smooth. Let it cool down for about 5 minutes.

Whisk all the dry ingredients together, except for the Pink Himalayan salt. Next, stir the sugar and eggs in too. Once that’s smooth, add the bowl of dry ingredients in.

Scoop the dough onto the baking sheet, then sprinkle the top with some Pink Himalayan salt. Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes, and let it cool down for 5 minutes. You can sprinkle some more Pink Himalayan salt onto the cookies if you wish.

Pink Himalayan Salt Caramels

These caramels make good sweets to pop in your mouth when you’re craving something sweet. You can also package them up and pass them out to your friends or family, or your children can take them to school to share with their friends.

For this recipe, you’ll need a candy thermometer, wax paper, 1 cup heavy cream, 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, 1/4 teaspoon Pink Himalayan salt, 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar, 1/4 cups light corn syrup, 1/3 cup water, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

Directions

Get out a glass pan and spray it with cooking spray or oil. Then, line it with parchment paper.

Over medium-low heat, combine the heavy cream, butter, and Pink Himalayan salt. Once it starts bubbling a little, remove it from heat and stir in the vanilla.

In another pot over medium-low heat, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water. Once the sugar’s dissolved, let the mixture boil, but don’t stir it.

Around 10 to 15 minutes, it’ll turn into a caramel color. Once it does, take the heavy cream mixture and add it. Stir to mix thoroughly.

At this point, put the candy thermometer in and watch the temperature. Stir frequently until the mixture reaches 242 degrees, which will take around 10 to 15 minutes.

When your mixture reaches 242 degrees, pour it into the glass pan and let it cool. This may take more than 2 hours.

When your caramel has cooled, you can lift it out of the pan with the parchment paper onto a cutting board. Spray your knife with cooking spray or oil, then cut the caramels into bite-sized pieces. Wrap up the candies with wax paper.

Chunky Chocolate Chip Cookies with Pink Himalayan Salt

These cookies aren’t for the faint of heart! Once baked, they’ll be chunky, so you’ll get to indulge yourself on these sweet treats.

The ingredients you’ll need are 2 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, 3/4 cup unsalted butter, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup white sugar, 2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 2 large eggs, 1 1/2 cups chocolate chunks, and Pink Himalayan salt.

Directions

Set your oven to 325 degrees and put parchment paper on your baking sheet. Sift the dry ingredients together, except for the sugars, chocolate chunks, and Pink Himalayan salt.

Mix together the butter and sugars until it’s smooth. This should take about 3 minutes with a hand mixer. Add in 1 egg and 1 egg yolk and mix it for a few more minutes.

Next, you need to mix in the flour either with your hand or the low setting of your mixer. Then, put in the chocolate chunks by hand. You’ll need to chill this dough for 30 minutes.

Once it’s cold enough, take the dough out and scoop out the cookies onto the baking sheet. Sprinkle the tops with Pink Himalayan salt.

Bake your cookies for around 15 minutes. Let them cool for 5 minutes and sprinkle with more Pink Himalayan salt if you want.

Pink Himalayan Salt Pretzel

This recipe isn’t exactly a sweet recipe, but you can still have a pretzel as a dessert, right?

You’ll need 1 tablespoon yeast, 1 tablespoon sugar, 2 cups warm water, 5 cups flour, 1 tablespoon salt, 1 teaspoon vegetable oil, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon water, and Pink Himalayan salt. You’ll also need 9 cups water and 1/2 cup baking soda for an alkaline bath.

Directions

Stir together the yeast, sugar, and warm water. After the yeast dissolves, stir in the flour and salt.

Knead the dough, put it back into the bowl, and brush it with vegetable oil. Cover the dough and let it rise to double the original size.

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees and boil the water for the alkaline bath. Take your dough and cut it into 8 pieces. Roll them into thin strips and shape them into pretzels.

Once the water’s boiled for the alkaline bath, mix the baking soda in. Dip each pretzel in for about 30 seconds. Let it drip dry a little, then place on your baking sheet.

Beat the egg with 1 tablespoon of water, then brush each pretzel with the mixture. Sprinkle the tops with Pink Himalayan salt and bake for about 12 minutes.
